FREE Screening: Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia
On October 21st, 2017, Lexicon Reading Center will offer a free screening for Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia.
We believe that all students deserve to have the right opportunities and tools to achieve all their developmental milestones. If you, as a parent, notice that your child is underachieving in their academic goals, this might be a golden opportunity to obtain an expert’s assessment about the presence of Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia in your child.
What Is a Screening?
Screening is an assessment process in which a Lexicon Reading Center expert defines if a child is at risk of exhibiting Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and/or Dyscalculia. The levels, like traffic lights, are three: low, medium and high risk.
A screening is not a diagnosis, but a strong indicator. And, depending on its results, it can be followed up by a full-cycle evaluation and diagnosis upon the parents’ request.
Some Background History
Lexicon Reading Center conducted a free Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia screening program for schools in 2015 and 2016. Although we screened hundreds of students, a number of schools missed out, due to the overwhelming response to our initiative. 60% of the children screened were found to be likely at risk and further action was recommended. Lexicon Reading Center has decided to again offer free screening, this time for Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia to parents on 21st of October, 2017.
