Dr Gavin Reid Joins Our Team
We are pleased to announce that Dr Gavin Reid has joined our team at Lexicon Reading Center as a visiting Consultant Psychologist. Dr Reid is an international award winning author, educational psychologist and international seminar presenter.

Areas of Dr Reid’s involvement at Lexicon Reading Center:
A) Assessment
Within less than two years of operation Lexicon Reading Center is getting a reputation of providing comprehensive psycho-educational assessment services for children with specific learning differences.
As part of a team of experts, Dr Reid will be working closely with Rudolf Stockling, our resident Educational Psychologist and the Head of the Evaluation Unit at Lexicon Reading Center. Our aim is to provide a level of assessment services of an international bench-marked quality.
Dr Reid has more than 20 years of international experience in conducting over 3000 psycho-educational assessments in many countries like Canada, UK, France, Switzerland, New Zealand, Dubai, Kuwait, Thailand, Republic of Ireland, Hungary and Australia. Dr Reid was also a co-author of popular standardized tests on Literacy and learning disabilities, the most well known is the Special Needs Assessment Profile (SNAP).
With this remarkable experience, Dr Reid’s involvement in our assessment services greatly enriches the level of depth in understanding a child’s complex needs. Integrating a solid analysis of the child’s needs into an effective intervention program is the key to achieve success and independence for young learners.
B) Best Teaching Practices at Lexicon Reading Center
Dr Reid’s internationally recognized research and expertise in motivating learners and implementing effective learning strategies will contribute greatly to provide interventions and teaching practices at an internationally recognized level of excellency at Lexicon Reading Center.
Building upon the scientifically based foundations of Lexicon Reading Center’s simultaneous multisensory intervention model, Dr Reid’s participation will further ensure that each child receives the best possible individually tailored support for his/her specific needs.
Dr Reid’s contribution will be especially appreciated in the development, implementation and supervision of interventions for children who require a combination of educational and psychological interventions.
C) Awareness Raising and Professional Development Opportunities
Dr Reid is an international author on dyslexia and effective learning. He has written more than 25 books, some of which have been translated into French, Italian, Arabic and Polish.
He was a senior lecturer at the University of Edinburgh for seventeen years and was responsible for developing the first masters’ course on dyslexia in the UK. He was on the British Dyslexia Association teacher training accreditation board and was recently visiting professor at University of British Columbia in Learning Disabilities and is currently an advisor for the board of the Canadian Academy of Therapeutic Tutors in British Columbia, Canada and All Special Kids (ASK) in Geneva.
With this vast experience in raising awareness on learning differences and training professionals on how to assess and support children with learning difficulties, the Lexicon Reading Center is able to expand its service to the community by running specialized training programs for parents, professionals or educational organization such as schools.
